Why You Should Lie Down and Try Not To Cry When Feeling Sad or Depressed

This is obviously not to say that feeling sad or depressed is always a bad thing. There are some times when sadness, depression and other negative emotions are important. For example, if you are going through a difficult time in your life and need to feel as bad as possible for a short period in order to get some benefits from it (such as making yourself more resilient). What I am talking about is that sometimes when you feel depressed or down it can be good to try and make yourself feel better. One way to do this is to lie down and try to relax. The reason for this is that when you are lying down, you cannot fall asleep. When the body is relaxed, it starts to enter a state which is similar to REM sleep (dreaming). When you enter this state it causes the mind to become more alert and reduce stress-hormones like cortisol. It also improves the mood by reducing the activity of the amygdala (the part of the brain which is responsible for feeling fear).

What are the Benefits of Lying Down When Feeling Sad?

You can also try to not think about anything in order to help yourself feel better. However, this is not always easy and I do not recommend it if you are having a bad day. If you are feeling down and depressed this can be difficult because you may not want to feel sad. Unfortunately, if you try and think of something exciting when you are feeling sad it may make the feeling worse. This is because your brain will then release more stress-hormone like cortisol which will make the sadness worse. Try not to think about the bad things that have happened to you in life. If you have problems, try not to think about them too much. If you cannot think of anything else, try to think about something positive that has happened in the past which you enjoyed.
Another idea is to listen to music or watch a movie. You could also try reading a book or writing a journal. You could also try exercise, such as going for a run or walk. When you are feeling sad or depressed it is usually best to avoid people who can make you feel worse like family members, teachers and friends. If you are not strong enough to avoid the people that make you feel worse then I would suggest getting some exercise or going for a run to help you feel better. Exercise can improve your mood and helps your body release endorphins which make you feel good.

How it Can Help with Mental Clarity

One of the best things you can do if you are feeling down is to go for a walk outside and breathe fresh air. When you go for a walk outside and take some deep breaths, it will help your body start to feel better. What this does is make people more relaxed. Your body needs to be relaxed before it can enter REM sleep. When you are lying down, your mind will not be able to enter this state and it will remain in an alert stressed-out state. When you walk outside and breathe fresh air, your body will start to feel better and you will enter a relaxed state of mind.
The greatest thing about going for a walk outside is that it will make your mind feel so much better. Your mind can start to clear and focus on the present. It will be able to relax and go into a deeper state of relaxation. When you are lying down, if you are stressed out or overly tired, it will be harder for your mind to relax and enter this state. When your mind enters this relaxed state, you will receive more restful sleep which helps with mental clarity.

How to Lie Down in a Way that Helps with Mental Clarity

Lie down away from a lot of distractions. For example, if you are in a room with lots of light coming in from the window, try to lie down in a dark area (or close the blinds). If you are at home and do not have a dark room to lie down, try lying on your bed without any clothes on. You can also try to turn out all the lights. Lie down in a comfortable position. If you are lying down on your bed, you can put a blanket or pillow underneath your head so that it does not hurt. You can also try to lie down in a position that you find comfortable and will help you feel more relaxed. Close your eyes and relax for a few seconds, and picture yourself in a calm and relaxing place. For example, you can imagine yourself lying on a sandy beach during the sunset. You can picture yourself being on the beach while listening to the sounds of the ocean in the background.
