Introduction: Why Faith Is the Solution to Disillusionment
The most important thing about my decision to enter college was that I needed to give myself the best chance at an excellent future. With a degree, I now had a solid number of leading industries that would be interested in me. But as I took another look at my degree options, it became clear that there was something fundamentally wrong with the decision I’d made. The degrees were all wildly different from each other and only one of them was even remotely close to sounding like what I wanted to do.
My mind was filled with a sense of uncertainty, so I decided to take a look at the field of psychology. It seemed like a natural fit, since it was one of my favorite classes in high school. I took them all because they were so interesting and there was nothing else that stuck out as different than my other classes. In college, however, psychology had gotten away from me and lost its luster. It seemed like a waste of time.
What is a Faithful Church?
What I really wanted to do was teach, so I decided to study social work. But what is a faithful church? What can a person expect from the world’s largest denomination? As I started asking questions and looking at the missions of my church, I found very little in common with other Christian denominations and little basis for faith. I was looking for something more than I expected to find in Christianity. I did not want to leave Christianity, I just wanted to be faithful to it. What was I looking for?
I found a sermon by Charles Colson in which he said that the first thing we need is faithfulness. If a church doesn’t have people who are faithful, then they don’t have anything. He says: “Faithful people don’t tolerate infidelity in their churches and they don’t tolerate it in their own lives. They don’t tolerate it in their communities, in their schools and workplaces, or in the public square.”
The Bible – The Greatest Manifestation of Christianity
The real reason I chose to study the Bible is that it is the uppermost manifestation of Christianity. It is the book which contains all other books, and its authority cannot be assessed by looking at anyone else’s work. Its glory lives by itself because its beauty speaks for itself. Its importance cannot be reduced by anyone. Its message can never be changed or denied.
Losing the Bible to Christianity, or the importance of authentic knowledge and being a true Christian, is like disbelieving in God. It is something that cannot be denied once it is experienced by someone. There are many things that I have learnt from my studies in the Bible, and I am not going to highlight them here either. The greatest thing I can say about the Bible is that it has changed my life completely, and I have never been more confident about anything in my life than what I know from this book.
How to Pray Effectively & Why It’s Important
I felt like I was unable to pray effectively. It was difficult to devote time to it and I often found my mind wandering far away from God. But the Bible tells me that prayer is absolutely essential for every Christian. Prayer allows me to spend time with God, even if it’s a short time. It allows me to express my feelings and my concerns to God, and he will listen to me. It makes me feel better when I am with him. It’s one of the main pillars of the Christian life. However, I couldn’t really see how to pray effectively?
I remembered that I used to go to a small community church with my family every sunday and a different leader would teach us how to pray. I was very impressed by this community because they had a lot of activities: fellowship, bible study and prayer meetings. They were really happy, generous and friendly people. When I prayed with them, I was very eager to learn how to pray effectively. They would explain how to pray and tell me how important praying is. However, they were not completely clear just what they meant by “effective” prayer.
But then I came across Dr. MacArthur’s book “How To Pray Effectively.” He explains that there are 3 different types of effective prayer: vocal, verbal and mind-oriented. And as for me, I really needed more clarification on the first two of these three types. Dr. MacArthur explains the difference between these two types of prayer and how to make sure that the prayers you are asking for are effective for your benefit. He tells us how to pray effectively based on the answer we get from our prayers.
