What did you used to do for fun? Full of energy and enthusiasm, you bounced off the walls, becoming acutely aware of your surroundings. Now, you’re exhausted and depleted. But does this have to be the case? No! The first step is stopping our thoughts: when we stop identifying ourselves with what’s been done—our failures or successes—we can start on a new path. Let’s face it: most of us have been conditioned by our environment and upbringing to be one specific way, but if you can explore the endless possibilities of who you can become, you’ll find that the potential within you is incredible. Instead of focusing on a boring life, why not fill it with the optimism of starting over again? Be who you want to be, someone who is confident and sure, someone whose outlook on life is astounding.
So, how do you find out who you’re supposed to be? By becoming that person now! Think of it as a science experiment: you will make a hypothesis (an educated guess), and then test that hypothesis through action until it’s either proven or refuted. Take a look at your current circumstances, but instead of viewing them as an obstacle, think about the positive side of what could happen if things worked out your way.

But does this have to be the case? No! The first step is stopping our thoughts: when we stop identifying ourselves with what’s been done—our failures or successes—we can start becoming who we want to be. Who do you want to be? Someone who’s happy, spontaneous, and energetic again? Then stop playing the victim; instead, accept the moment and let yourself become a time traveler.
Time is your best friend or worst enemy: it can either drag you down or lift you up. There’s no in-between about this. So why not start wondering when it will lift you up? Once you find yourself again, then your life can begin anew.

Instead of focusing on a boring life, why not fill it with the optimism of starting over again? However you answer this question might be different for everyone, but these are just my thoughts. I’m sure there will be a lot of questions and objections, but let’s not focus on that. Let’s focus on what you can remember—on what you’ve done in the past, but also on the future that is waiting for you!

Before: The simple truth of our own humanity was enough. We began to believe it was possible for others to do this too. Before there was a need for institutions or companies or even the internet, the human spirit could still find its way.

When we’re young, we have a lot of dreams. Our minds are still very clear, and we can see our future heart-stealingly outlined. Even at the beginning of our lives, we think that everything is possible and that anything is possible in a world bound by the limitations of its own creation—a moral code to ensure that people don’t get too carried away with their ambitions and claims. If a kid is good, they can have anything they want. But what happens later? As we grow up, we learn that our beliefs aren’t true and that there are certain limitations. Every year, we learn new ways to do things more efficiently and less expensively so that the money we earn can support us for the rest of our lives. We realize that we have to be realistic and act accordingly. But how can we arrive at a place where we can work on our dreams without having to worry about financial issues? It’s not an easy question to answer, but one start is to simply ask: “Why is it that only a few people in the world were able to achieve their dreams?”
The following is the copy for an article I found on businessinsider.com, that answers this question by using data from personal finance and investing website GoBankingRates.com:
“As a whole, only 38 percent of Americans have achieved their goals. And the most common roadblock to achieving our goals is financial problems — 75 percent of Americans that failed to achieve their goals blamed money issues. The second most common reason for failing to achieve goals is poor time management skills, which was the reason given for failing by 67 percent of Americans.”

We often forget that our beliefs can change over time and that some of these beliefs aren’t even grounded in reality.

In a way, we’re taught to be hard-working and practical as soon as we have the first opportunity to enter the workforce. We are told that life is hard and that any failure is something we must endure until our next job or a better occupation in which to put our abilities. Few of us understand what an education means. We understand what it is and what it does for our lives, but we don’t really understand how to use it properly. When we’re young, we think of an education as something that will bring us a better future when the world doesn’t even know who we are. In fact, the idea of success is so prevalent within our societies that most people believe that this is the only way for them to achieve their dreams. However, this is not true. In the workplace, in our communities and in our personal lives, there are things that we can do to achieve success. Success starts with getting an education and then pursuing a career path. But not everyone wants to work within the confines of a particular career that is deemed acceptable for them because of social class. There are jobs not only for highly-educated people but for everyone. After all, we’re all different in our own way and we can learn from each other as well as from each situation.
We often forget that our beliefs can change over time and that some of these beliefs aren’t even grounded in reality. The biggest mistake we can make in our lives is the assumption that the world is a very harsh place because we are taught this from an early age.
The world is a very tough place for lots of reasons, but most people can’t afford to think about things like this on a day to day basis. Many of us are taught to believe that failure is a part of life and that we should just embrace it. We must understand however, that failure doesn’t mean you won’t find success in the future because as humans, we have the potential to do so much more than we are even aware of. It’s possible for everyone to make a change in their lives, but it does require changing our way of thinking about something.
