Why I Want to be a “White Person”

As a white person I have always felt lucky to be unique in my skin color because it has given me more opportunities and chances. On the other side, black people are much more of a minority in society. They’ve been used as slaves for centuries and were abused by being called names now seems normal like “a n****r” which is with the use of racist language that isn’t just confined to this century. This is why I want to be white because of the oppression. It’s not fair that there is a race system cause skin color has nothing to do with character and personality. I’m not saying that I don’t like people of different skin colors but it’s only fair if they’re treated fairly. If people were treated fairly then they would understand that they’re all created equal.
Skin color has nothing to do with me or my character. I would never treat a black person any differently because we are all created equally. We should learn to accept each other for who we are in order to move on together as a society.
Sincerely,

A white person.

My Experience as a Black Woman in the US

My father was a black man and mom was white. I was born in the south [i]so this is where I grew up. My mother always ordered me to do my chores and it was no shock to me because she never married my dad; he had been her high school boyfriend as well. For example, I cleaned my room and did every thing in there when she bought it from the same company. Also, I was in the house a lot because I was still young and didn’t know how to survive out there yet. When I was out of my home and around white people, they would stare at me or sometimes say a little word but some would get more comfortable and ask me my name and ask me to sit with them because I don’t fit in there. In the back of my mind I always wondered why they looked at me so weird, I guess they were curious or just trying to make conversation. Some didn’t know how to talk to me. If a white man asked me if I wanted anything or if they could help, I would politely decline and just keep walking around as if I was looking for something.

What White People Can Learn from Black People About Self-Care & Skin Care

The black people are a minority that people just look at as an object and not as a human so it’s easier for them to get away with it. They treat us differently because of the skin color and treat us like we’re the lowest people on Earth. I don’t know if white people understand this because since they’re a majority, they probably don’t have this problem. They think their skin color gives them advantages. For example, if you’re a black person and go to a doctor, they’re gonna be worried about your health but if you’re white and go to the doctor, they’ll just worry about the money they could make off of you. They’ll be like “oh my God, I need to get this money, so I’m just gonna take it for granted and just get rid of you” because there’s a hefty price tag when it comes to healing someone. There’s not enough money in the world for them to heal me. White people can learn from black people about self-care and skin care.
I learned from the blacks how to treat myself properly in order to stop the aging process. And by that I mean diet, exercise, and sleep. I treat myself better than I’m supposed to, but it still never works. I look at this stuff and just laugh at it because of all the money they wasted on me and I’m still not recovered from my injuries even though they’ve healed. It’s funny that they spend a lot of money to heal me and every time anything happens, it only gets worse. If you see someone who has a piece of cloth hanging over one eye, that probably means that person has eye problems. They might have a detached retina or something like that. That’s why you only see the blacks in medical commercials but you never see the whites in them.

What Black People Can Learn from White People About Self-Care & Skin Care

I learned a lot from the black people because they’re always telling me “black girls don’t have good skin.” While I’m out, I always notice that some of the black women dress for me, not for them. They put on make-up and do their hair to show off, not to itself. So, I think this is true because with my experience as a black girl, it’s about self-love and self-care. But whites put off more confidence than blacks. I find out at the cash register, I always get the best service and this is just like self-care. But as a black girl, I think it’s because of my skin color and some of the blacks agree with that too.
It’s really not that they’re discriminating against black people, but making sure they get the best service. It’s not racist; it’s just good business. I think this is true because, I mean, you look at the blacks and they’re always out in their hair and makeup. They’re not just going somewhere, but looking good so that themselves before anybody else. Well, whites have a lot of money and they could hire people to do their hair and makeup for them for free, but they chose not to because it’s more about themselves. So, this is what I think is true about the self-care from both blacks and whites. They’re just different ways of showing that they love themselves.

Different Types of Pigmentation in the Skin & How They Affect How You Look

Skin is the only body part that gets dark in the sun. People always think of melanin as something different; it’s pigment that acts like a protective shield for you. It gives you protection from the Sun and I don’t see much of this pigment around white people because they’re in houses all day. This means their skin isn’t exposed to much sunlight and it’s not very dark at all. People think of differences between blacks and whites but when looking at skin color, there are more differences than similarities. And I don’t think that people look at a black person and say, “Oh, his skin is brown.” So, this is why I want to be white.

Different Types of Pigmentation in the Skin & How They Affect How You Look
Pigmented skin is the skin whose color and tone varies from person to person. Some people have dark spots on their skin, and others have pale white skin. The amount of this pigment determines a person’s shade of skin. For example, someone who has dark spots on their face looks either African or Caucasian. Someone with pale skin may look Asian, or maybe even Hispanic.
The skin in our body is made of cells called melanocytes (similar to how hair grows from inside our skin). Melanocytes make the pigment that gives color to our skin. Melanocytes produce only one type of pigmentation. This determines what color a person’s shade of skin will be. Melanin protects the body’s organs and helps them function properly.
There are two kinds of pigmentation:
