The Other Miss Bridgerton is the first book in a series of seven. The prequel, The Other Miss Bridgerton starts off with mischievous Fanny and Rupert who meet at their Aunt’s house. When they catch each other’s eyes, sparks fly, but there is a problem. There is this girl that Rupert is “engaged” to. All it takes to get Rupert out of his engagement is for Fanny to make him laugh! Well, Fanny thinks she can make him laugh and in the mean time has a good time herself with all of the fun she has with Rupert’s family.
When The Other Miss Bridgerton is read, we are transported to England at the time of Regency. We meet two brothers – Fanny, who is also a sister and Rupert (the twin brother), who has some secret in his past that he is trying to keep from his family. A lot of twists and turns set the scene for what happens when Fanny and Rupert meet each other. Fanny is a good looking girl and she knows her way around a kitchen, but when she meets Rupert, his family – the Bridgertons, his mother, father and brothers – they seem to be complete opposites.
The Other Miss Bridgerton takes you on an adventure of two people who will each have their own story to tell. The relationship between Fanny and Rupert is sweet with just enough “jollity” thrown in to keep you smiling throughout. The Bridgertons are an interesting family. The story that the twins tell, who are Fanny and Rupert, is a funny and heartwarming story. The Other Miss Bridgerton is a great book for any age.
