Introduction – What Is iMissYouMoreThaniThoughtiWould?

i miss you more than i thought i would is an experiment in social isolation and its effect on the artist. I took a long break from developing any my own work, and spent the last seven months exploring other people’s creative processes. I stopped taking photographs and began saving videos, collecting text fragments, gathering various materials in the shape of old receipts, postcards that were never sent. I recorded conversations with friends and strangers alike.
In this way i became more aware of how powerful social interactions remain while they happen regardless of whether they are met with positivity or rejection. Perhaps there is a sense of belonging that people feel when they are in the spotlight, or perhaps it’s the desperation to be seen and heard, or both. The pressure to perform can be very real. Placed in this context, i miss you more than i thought i would plays on our natural instinct of wanting to be noticed and interacted with, while it simultaneously questions our tendency to go overboard once we feel we have accomplished this goal.
