What is Artificial Intelligence and How Does it Affect Human Behavior?

There is no doubt that computers, robots, and algorithms are doing some pretty amazing things these days-from playing Jeopardy! to driving a car. But with that great comes a good deal of speculation about what was it like in the day when humans were the only ones in charge and did everything. From the perspective of cognitive theory, we may consider computers to be artificial agents because, like humans, they have goals, reason and make inferences. However, as we move away from the person as the agent of decision making and toward cellular life forms in our quest to unseat evolution by chance, we can begin to see that computers and algorithms are not truly artificial intelligence (AI). AI is an agent that can adapt and modify based upon its environment. In other words, it has the ability to learn. Algorithms do not learn. They have been pre-written and pre-programmed to do a specific task.

How AI Is Promoting Scientific Thinking

To better understand how our goal-oriented thinking process might be affected by AI, we must first develop a better understanding of what it is. An artificial agent has autonomy and its own long-term goals. It is capable of reasoning about the environment and making its own decisions about what to do to achieve those goals. It can learn, grow and evolve. It has goals and interacts with the world through a sensorium to achieve those goals, making inferences based on its observations. It acts to achieve goals.
The most widely accepted definition of intelligence is what expert in the field calls “goal-oriented behavior”, or “purposeful autonomous action”. Autonomous agents comprise complex systems that can learn, interact with their environment, and evolve over time. They are what we refer to as intelligent agents (see: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/05/120506104530.htm ). Here, “intelligence” is defined as the ability to achieve goals in a wide variety of environments.

How Can AI Help Us Change Ourselves?

The ever-expanding capacities of AI, in the form of smart software and machines, can open up new opportunities for human action, or at least make our old actions easier and more effective to achieve. One way that AI could help us is by enabling us to have greater access to information. This new access can be achieved through Google, Alexa, Siri and other smart software programs. For example, people can ask Google questions or email a virtual assistant with a question or request. These programs will then use data algorithms to collate relevant information and provide the most accurate response. Some of these programs, such as Siri and Alexa, will try to personalise the information by suggesting other relevant information that may help answer the initial question.

What are the 5 Ways in Which AI Will Transform Your Life in 2019?

As AI continues to improve, it could make it easier for people to share essential information and access global resources. AI can help people avoid making mistakes by predicting likely outcomes based on their previous actions. It can also aid decision-making by providing relevant advice and data analysis to make more informed choices. It will be used in the medical field to help treat patients and reduce medical errors. In addition, AI will be used in law enforcement and forensics, education and the military. Your fitness could also be monitored by AI, which would then notify you when it detects a problem.
