Introduction: When Can We Expect the End of Civilization?

It is possible that civilization will cease to exist when the sun explodes and all life on earth is eradicated. However, as long as life exists on earth, civilization will never end. When a civilization ends in one region and another begins elsewhere, it becomes known as a rebirth of civilization. There can be no rebirths of civilization, because when a civilization ends then it ceases to exist. Civilization cannot flow backward. If it did, it is not civilization, but civilization that flows backwards. When civilization ceases, so too will the people to have created it. We might ask: when can we expect the end of civilization? In this article I will cover several theories of when we might expect the end of civilization, and then propose a perspective that looks back to see all that has been done and asks “what was it all for?”

What Are the Contributing Factors to Civilization Flowing Backwards – And Why?

When a civilization flows backward, the cultural attributes and social relations of the past gradually become present in the present. As a result, what is regarded as “civilization” today becomes just one among hundreds of civilizations that have existed over the course of millions of years. It is not that civilizations flow backward; it is just that they are variations on an ancient theme. This is why there have been several civilizations during the history of mankind. Most people think exactly this way now and will be led to understand this way in the future. Civilization is a natural phenomenon and will never disappear. There have always been civilizations in this world and there always will be. Civilization is not a state of affairs that someone comes up with, therefore it does not flow backward.
There are three factors that make civilization flow backward. One is the lack of information and knowledge, another is material conditions and the last one is mentalities.
1. Lack of information and knowledge . When a person’s or a country’s information about civilization is not rich enough, he will easily mistake what he sees for civilization. It could be said that civilization does not need an explanation; that it should be understood by itself. However, it is not always possible to understand a civilization just by looking at it. Therefore, information may be required to explain it. If we don’t have a complete understanding of history or the logic of development, then illogical situations will occur. For example, there have been many contradictory views on a civilization’s own logic or the reasons for its decline since the 19th century. There have been many people who argued that England did not decline because the country had abundant natural resources and the worker’s social rights, but rather because it lacked knowledge about science and technology.

How Would Our Lives in an Inverted Civilization be Different? – And Why?

As mentioned above, while our standards of living will undoubtedly drop, it would not be as drastic a shift as most people think. In fact, anyone who claims to know what exactly an inversion of civilization would entail is either lying or deluded. This is because there have been many different civilizations over the course of millions of years and thus many variants will occur. For example, in the ancient past, humankind was primarily divided into classes, but it would not be that way in an inverted civilization. This is unrealistic and cannot be said to be true because of the vast amount of change that has happened throughout history. In fact, there have been several civilizations during the life span of mankind and the majority of those civilizations are not known to us today (e.g., Greek civilization). Because of this, it is impossible to determine the nature of an inverted civilization moving forward. In addition, when considering the possible life forms outside of our planet, one must consider that some may not even have a civilization that is capable of being inverted.
Obviously, most if not all people would have a harder time than they do now. This has been stated numerous times before and there is no need to address it further. Minorities (e.g. women) would have it the hardest. This is mostly because oppressed groups tend to be at the bottom of the societal pyramid, so when civilizations invert, they generally fall from the highest positions to the lowest.

What Will Happen if Civilizations Flow Backward in Every Country at the Same Time? – And Why?

It is unlikely that this will ever happen. The life span of a civilization is short when compared to the time it takes for humans to forget their past and, by the time they have forgotten their past, another civilization has already taken hold. This can be said with certainty because civilizations have existed over the course of millions of years, but humans have existed for only a few hundred thousand years and civilizations have never existed longer than this. Thus, the idea that man’s past could be forgotten is ridiculous. Humans have existed for a long time and it is difficult to imagine that the span of their life on earth would disappear within the blink of an eye.
If this did happen, however, humanity would still be able to survive. They would just have to begin from scratch. Though it might be difficult to foresee the extent (or even the existence) of this new civilization, they could survive in a small and isolated country. This idea is not unique; even though large countries like China are huge and stable enough to exist, if the people living in one city all died at once there would be no more citizens who could join together and form another large country. If a civilization were to end and humanity survives in these secluded countries, we may never have the chance to see one again.
Although the idea is not possible, there are some reasons why it might be. This article will explore some of these reasons.

And Finally… What Do We Do Now That It’s Too Late and There’s No Turning Back…?

First of all, there is no reason to believe it will be too late. Second, there is no evidence that anything will happen that would prevent civilization from continuing forward. It is true that the rate at which civilization flows backward can increase, but it does not mean that it will flow backward in the first place. Finally, it would be better for us not to believe that civilization is unstoppable. If we believe this then we will simply create more expectations for an impending disaster and be more miserable living in a world that will end.
Any theory about a civilization stopping (or even slowing) will be proven wrong if it is not the single model that makes the most sense. The entirety of the possibilities of what can actually happen to civilization make up a probability distribution, and if one theory makes more sense than all others from our current vantage point then it only means it is more likely than any other theory given our current knowledge. Just because a theory does not seem to fit our view of the world does not mean it is wrong.
