Blessed Are The Dead Who Die In The Lord—Why Talking And Praying With God Is So Important

We know it is hard to think of the idea that we should be praying and talking to God when we are mourning the death of someone. But he promises, in Romans 8:35-39, that if our “hearts are sprinkled clean” by Christ then nothing can separate us from his love, and this means that even when we are sorrowful, like Job after the death of his family, God will bring us through our trials and tribulation. [Joyce Meyer, The Lord’s Prayer: The Power of Intercession (Ed. A), Moody Publishers, 2009, p.158]
But if we are to go through the ordeal of death with eternal life as our goal, then we must see this as a means to accomplish something—something that will benefit us and others. And what better thing can we accomplish than helping each other rise up to God?
