The Final Episode of Season 1 of the Manuscripts and Poems : The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey
Waking up to a familiar sound, the rolling of wooden drum and a cacophony of African tribal chants, Ptolemy stretches out his arms and begins to sit up. With the searing pain in his right forearm throbbing, he realizes he is still bandaged and had fallen asleep on the couch.
With the laptop open to show a wet image of the manuscript of “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey”, he is reminded that it should be removed from Facebook and other sites. He tries to figure out what went wrong. The images seem to have been duplicated by someone else, like a virus spreading across the World Wide Web.
A knock on his door and an unfamiliar voice says, “Mr. Grey? You awake?”
Ptolemy shifts his body to the side so he can see a small man carrying a suitcase. He stands in the doorway wearing a baggy blue suit and looks at Ptolemy with mild curiosity. “I’m here to take you to the hospital,” says the man, his tone uninterested.
“You were going to tell me that earlier,” says Ptolemy, sensing a familiar situation. “Where is my wife?” he asks, puzzled.
“Your wife was called away on business,” said the man, but he is interrupted by Ptolemy’s cellphone ringing. “Do you want me to answer that?” the man asks, still in an uninterested tone.
Ada’s Review Of “The Last Days Of Ptolemy Grey” [Season 1]
The case opened with Ptolemy getting out of surgery on his hand and learning the news of Joseph’s death. We then cut to a flashback where we see Ptolemy and Jericho seeing a helicopter flying over the city. Jericho worries that it is the police but Ptolemy knows that they are journalist and because of this, he is VERY paranoid. When they are looking at the helicopter, they both realize that it is going to be Sarah (which has never been caught before). They leave the cafe and head to the airport where Ptolemy hands a pager to Jericho. They have an argument though with Ptolemy worrying because of his debt to Sarah, plus the fact that she is former FBI. Jericho convinces Ptolemy to let him handle it, so they go to the plane to confront her. As they are approaching the plane, Ptolemy and Jericho are arguing that Ptolemy can’t remember if he left his passport in his brother’s house or not. Well, he totally forgot about that.
The Final Episode Of Season 1 Of Ptolemy
Released on February 12th, 2018, this is the final episode of season 1 of “The Manuscripts and Poems”. The season has definitely been a hard one to read, but I can safely say that this was my favorite episode of the season. We do have some closure to know that Joe is dead…that’s about it. We also get a taste of what Ptolemy’s life is going to be like in the future … and you will see why he feels that way in this episode. Let’s get right into it.
The episode starts off with Ptolemy still asleep on the couch. He is awoken by a news report about Joe’s death. First of all, I want to say that this cold open is fantastic. Radio Freedom’s theme from Metal Gear Solid 2 is used here and it makes the whole scene more dramatic and Ptolemy’s reaction to Joe’s death feels more realistic than the rest of the season. I would recommend you hear this song at least once before reading the rest of this document…
