This is a poem about how much fun you get to have during the month of October. The author can’t wait for the Fall and Halloween because that’s when everything gets spooky, exciting and exciting! The month of October is an amazing time of the year for learning about the environment, seeing beautiful flowers and plants, and just enjoying life to the fullest. According to Judy Peckham, a young girl from Pennsylvania, “[October] is like Christmas without all the wrapping paper and candy” (abridged on page 17-19).
This poem is a great way to convince people to appreciate October and all that comes along with this time of year. The young girl in the poem says, “It’s a time of year when being different is what counts,” (abridged on page 19). People will get to enjoy the beautiful weather, autumn leaves, and having fun. The month of October will be one month where everyone gets to enjoy nature, Halloween costumes, and just life in general.
What is October?
To understand this poem, you need to first understand the month of October. October is the tenth month of the year and is a part of the autumn season. This season occurs between spring and winter. Once fall comes around, people get excited for Halloween, Thanksgiving, raking leaves and many more things! October is the last month of summer and is associated with the harvest. It is also a very creative and energetic month, which makes it a lot of fun. People love this season because they get to enjoy birthdays, trick or treating, apple picking, pumpkins and many more fun things. For some, October is about school because it is the beginning of the new school year. Others love this month because it is when all the fun outdoorsy things come. In this poem, Lisa’s first name has been changed to get rid of spoilers.
This poem is about a girl named Lisa. She wrote this poem to tell people that she applies herself in school and is very intelligent. However, she also likes to go outside and have a good time. She doesn’t like the cold weather, though. “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” shows how much fun October is for her!
The History of October
Although the month of October is fun and exciting, it has a long history. There is evidence that shows how the Americas celebrated their fall harvest with trick-or-treating in the 1800s. Actually, early-American children would dress up as witches and goblins before going to someone’s house to have a piece of apple pie. This tradition eventually evolved into Halloween which is celebrated on October 31st every year. October also has its own birthday; however, it is not so well known today. It is actually a part of the Roman calendar, which was also used in the rest of Europe. October was named for Ocetius, a Roman god. It has been used in English since the 18th century and this is the reason why October is connected to witches and goblins. In 2014, the title of this blog was changed from “The History of Halloween” to “The History of October” because almost all holidays on Halloween are related to it.
As a reminder, I am not a historian or anything similar. However, I am also not a historian who says “i’m so glad i live in a world where there are octobers”.

How to Celebrate Halloween with a Halloween Party in Style
Although Halloween is known as a fun holiday today, it used to be a very scary festival. The people would dress up like ghosts, witches and skeletons; they would knock on doors and ask for food and drink. However, it has been changed to make it more exciting. Now, instead of trick-or-treating in your neighborhood, you can go out with your friends and enjoy the fun around you. Different countries like Belgium, Brazil, Japan and Morocco celebrate Halloween by gathering together with friends to watch scary movies or play games together. You can also try different activities such as making fun masks or even going on a pumpkin walk. You could decorate your house, buy scary decorations and hang them all around the house. And since Halloween parties usually take place at night, you could watch scary movies as well.
Halloween is often known to be a holiday of fun and games. But have you ever thought of putting on a Halloween party that is different from what everyone else does? You can come up with many Halloween ideas if you have a little time and effort.
