Introduction: 10 Reasons Why You Should Come to the Land of the Lost and Lonely
Ok. Let’s be honest, there are some pretty happy people out there. They are all around the world and they seem like they never have a minute to feel lonely or lost in any way. You can live in the city, get a puppy and walk around scratching his belly and talking about the time your friend’s grandmother visited you for lunch. Everyone is so busy because there are no children, so no one has to take them to or from school. Your life is yours, not a burden on those closest to you.
For some people, this might sound like a highlight reel of happiness. For me, it’s a total downer, because I don’t want to hang out with a bunch of people who are just passing through.

I love the sound of my own voice. I hate to waste time with people who don’t want to talk about anything besides the weather and their job. I love to be the only one doing stuff. I hate to do nothing because there will always be someone else about. I feel right at home when there’s nobody around, and that doesn’t mean it’s lonely.
I feel a certain kind of peace when I’m alone. It’s as if I’m getting away with something or as if I’m wearing a mask that allows me to breathe freely. I can’t explain it, but I can feel it.
